Tottenham Hotspur have officially confirmed that they have sent Argentine youngster Alejo Veliz to La Liga side Espanyol on a season-long loan.
Alejo Véliz joined Espanyol from Tottenham Hotspur on a one-year loan on Wednesday.
The former Rosario Central striker moved to the Spanish team. Which was recently promoted from the second division to La Liga’s first division, with no buy option included in the agreement.
The 20-year-old Argentine play the last six months ยูฟ่าเบท at Sevilla. Where despite wearing the number 10 jersey, he started most of the games on the bench.
But he’s only now coming back from a hamstring injury sustained in the Bournemouth match. Tottenham have plenty of quality attackers ahead of him. So few matches left it’s unlikely he’ll get meaningful minutes between now and the end of the season. Sevilla supposedly have promised him game time on loan, and so this makes a great deal of sense.
“Alejo Velez has joined La Liga side Espanyol on loan until the end of the 2024/25 season,” the club said in a statement. The 20-year-old joine Spurs from Rosario Central for £13m in August 2023 and has made eight Premier League appearances for the club, scoring once.
Previously, Veliz gained experience with Sevilla in the second half of the 2023/24 season, playing a total of 6 matches.
